The digital scrapbook kit element was created in PhotoShop CS3 but you may be able to create the same steps in other photo editing software.

10) Copy the Layer Style to the Edge Layer. (With the cursor over the Layer Style area on the Shape 1 Layer, right click. Choose Copy Layer Style option. Right Click on Edge Layer, choose Paste Layer Option OR while holding down the Alt key, drag the fx from the Shape 1 layer to the Edge Layer.
11) Turn of the visibility of the Shape 1 Layer. Make sure the lighter shade of brown is the Foreground color and then type the text you want on your plaque. Use a font like Times New Roman and all caps. Adjust the spacing of the letters unevenly through the Horizontal Scale. When you are finished Rasterize the Type Layer. (Layer>Rasterize>>Type). Turn on the visibility of the Shape 1 and add Layer Style to the Rasterized Type Layer . Play with the Layer Style settings until you are happy with the look. I added a small Drop Shadow, Bevel and Inner Glow.

12) Your plaque should look now look like this.

13) Using the Ellipse Tool draw out a small circle in one of the corners of the plaque. Copy the Layer Style from the Shape 1 to the circle. Copy the circle 3 times and move into position on the plaque.
14) You are now ready to add grunge and character to your plaque and typing. Add a new layer just above the Shape 1 layer. Change your Color Chips to Gray Green and Gray colors. (6b7c7e and b5b5aa). Using a rough bristly brush paint in grunge around edges and under letters. Play with layer blend modes and opacity until you get a grunge layer you are happy with.

15) Almost finished. To add even more realism, use the dodge and burn tool on the Shape 1, Edge, Grunge and Type Layers. You have now finished a digital scrapbook kit element!
